Our Privacy Policy
The Center for Whale Studies (CWS) is committed to safeguarding your privacy. This statement explains our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way the information you provide us is collected and used. For easy and direct access, we provide a link to this statement from our home page and all other pages of the site. CWS is the sole owner of and the only organization that uses the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others under any circumstances.
Online Donations, Adoptions and Sales
CWS collects the following information through our secure online financial-transaction pages: name, address, e-mail address, phone number, and credit card information. This personally identifiable information is used to acknowledge receipt of your donation for tax purposes, and to include you on CWS' mailing list. Normally, we send out (via US Mail) one annual Research Update for donors of $50 or more and restrict our soliciations to a minimum. Please contact us directly by regular mail (click here for address) or by email if, at any time you want to be removed from the mailing list or if you would like to correct or change the personal information you have previously provided.

CWS' site includes links, some temporary and some permanent, to other web sites. We are not responsible for the privacy and security practices of any other web site or the nature of the content contained therein.

In the event that CWS decides to alter its privacy policy, the changes will be added directly to this statement.

Returns and Refunds for Donations
We hope you will not require a refund for your donation but should you need a refund, we can accommodate those requests if you notify us by email or mail within 30 days of the donation being placed. After receiving your refund request we will issue the refund within 7 business days. Refunds cannot be issued for donations older than 30 days.
Delivery Method and Timing of Donation Processing
CWS strives to return membership documents and tax receipts to our donors in a timely manner. During most months of the year, donors should receive their tax acknowledgement bt Jan 31 of the following year, if not sooner.
